Her phone kept vibrating on the nightstand. 3:07 AM. His name on the screen. She stared at it, confused… he never called this late. For a second, she thought about ignoring it. But something didn’t feel right. She answered. Silence. Just heavy breathing on the other side. “Hello?” she whispered. No response… then suddenly, he spoke. His voice didn’t sound like him. “I didn’t have time to explain earlier…” Her heart started racing. She sat up in bed, fully awake now. “Explain what?” she asked. There was a long pause… then he said something that made her freeze. He told her to check her messages from earlier that day. She quickly opened them… and that’s when she saw it. A message she never sent… sent from her account. The same words he was now repeating to her. Word for word. She slowly brought the phone back to her ear… but the call had already ended. The line went dead. And a second later… her phone lit up again. Another message sent… from her number.
