There they were. In the garage. A small bed. A portable heater. My mom wearing a jacket like it was winter. My dad acting like everything was okay. I asked them what was going on, and at first they didn’t want to say anything. Then slowly, the truth came out. My sister had moved in with her boyfriend and decided the house needed “a fresh start.” She told them it would only be temporary… that they could stay in the garage for now. And they agreed. Not because they wanted to—but because they didn’t want to cause problems. That’s when something in me snapped. I looked at them and said, “Pack a bag. I’ll be back in an hour.” And no—I didn’t call the police. I had something else in mind. Something she wasn’t expecting.
Was I right to handle it my way… or would you have done something different?
